Andre started banging on pots and pans around the house at a very young age. After many years of unsuccessfully begging his mother for a drum kit, a neighbor gave him his old drums. There is an old Chinese saying "If thine enemy wrong thee, buy each of his children a drum" (I guess his parents weren't very popular on the block!). After many years of intense practice he said to his mother "Mom when I grow up I want to be a musician." Her response, "Now honey, you know you can't do both". After a successful year long stint with Relativity, he is now with the On Or Close outfit and everything's alright.
Joe was just five years old when he started violin lessons. It was just the beginning of a life long obsession with music. Piano lessons were next, but then he discovered his true passion, Rock and Heavy Metal and picked up the guitar. In his college years, he spent countless hours strumming the acoustic and playing coffee house gigs. After moving to Las Vegas to pursue a career in guitar building, he played extensively with Irish bands Finnegan's Wake and The Celtic Rockers, playing both guitar and fiddle. He also played with many Rock cover acts at casinos and clubs on the Vegas Strip. Since moving back to Long Island he has kept busy with acoustic and solo shows while rocking hard with The Foundation and starring in Project Floyd, one of the Tri-State area's top Pink Floyd tribute acts. Joe has now hooked up with the On Or Close outfit and everthing's alright. Visit www.mayerguitars.com to check out Joe's custom handmade guitars and repair service.
Mike - Bass, Vocals
Mikey was a school boy when he heard his first Beatle's song. His rock and roll fantasy began in the early days as a lead singer for a few local garage bands in Brentwood. The bass player quit the band, and he picked up the bass and learned to play before they could find a replacement. Back then no one wanted to play bass, it wasn't as cool as guitar or drums. In the mid 80's he and a close friend, Rick, founded a band called So Close and played the local clubs around the Island. Other band members came and went, but they held the band together until Rick moved away in 2004. Needing to fill his musical void he began to go on auditions for bands seeking bass players. When that came up short he decided to put something together himself. That something became the On Or Close outfit and everything's alright.
