JOHNNY z - LEAD GUITAR, VOCALS
Johnny Z started his musical journey by following in the footsteps of his father, who was an accomplished accordian player. He learned to play both accordian and piano, but something happened when he heard Jimi Hendrix and every other guitar god that followed. He gently placed the accordian back in it's case, picked up the guitar, and hasn't put it down since. As they say, "the rest is history". Long live rock !

ANDRE - DRUMS
Andre started banging on pots and pans around the house at a very young age. After many years of unsuccessfully begging his mother for a drum kit, a neighbor gave him his old drums. There is an old Chinese saying "If thine enemy wrong thee, buy each of his children a drum" (I guess his parents weren't very popular on the block!). After many years of intense practice, he said to his mother "Mom when I grow up I want to be a musician." Her response, "Now honey, you know you can't do both".

MIKE - BASS, VOCALS
Mikey was a school boy when he heard his first Beatle's song. His rock and roll fantasy began in the early days as a lead singer for a few local garage bands in Brentwood. The bass player quit the band, and he picked up the bass and learned to play before they could find a replacement. In the mid 80's he and a close friend founded a band and played the local clubs around the Island. Band members came and went, but they held the band together until it's breakup in 2004. Needing to fill his musical void he began to go on auditions for bands seeking bass players. When that came up short he decided to put something together himself. That something became On Or Close.
